Miley Cyrus did not take too kindly to Sinead O'Connor's seemingly well-intentioned open letter, re-posting some of the Irish singer's frantic tweets from 2012. Then, O'Connor fired back with more than just words, insinuating that legal action may be taken against the former Disney star. After that, Miley responded via Twitter, and now we are on our third O'Connor open letter.
"Ms Cyrus has today posted tweets of mine which are two years old and which were sent when I was ill and seeking medical help," O'Connor wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 3. "She has done this in an attempt to deliberately cause me harm and hurt. I wish to confirm that I am quite well and kindly request people cease e mailing me in the mistaken belief these are recent tweets."
At the time of the tweets in question, the singer explained that a tabloid report about her husband and the criticism she'd drawn for recently marrying him had triggered her desperate state. O'Connor married Barry Herridge in Las Vegas on December 8, 2011 only to split up after 18 days. The two managed to reconcile a few days later, but then broke up for good shortly after.
The 46-year-old Nothing Compares 2 U singer added in her post, "Ms. Cyrus' lawyers will be contacted by mine regarding this matter."
Miley, 20, responded to this by tweeting:
Following the messages, O'Connor wrote yet another letter with some not-so-kind words for the Wrecking Ball singer: "I have no interest whatsoever in meeting you. You had plenty of time yesterday to abuse Amanda Bynes .. an entirely innocent party.. and myself.. who also did nothing to deserve your abuse.. along with every other sufferer of mental health problems and every person who suffered abuse at the hands of priests. You can take five minutes today between g- string f***in' changes to publicly apologize and remove your abusive tweets. If you do not then you don't give a sh** who you mock and what damage you do by being so ignorant."
